Macho Chopper Chair
Kevin O’Callaghan: 3-D Product Reality
The testosterone-obsessed male species daring to call themselves “macho” are involved in a constant battle to have the bigger, the better, the flashier. They obsess over sports, girls and toys. And what better toy to beat all the others in this prick-measuring contest than the Chopper?
Each student was given a wooden Ikea chair with a personality type written on the bottom and told to make it that personality. The frame is crafted from genuine motorcycle accessories and real working lights and steering. We had one week to complete this project.
This project was featured at ICFF 2008 at the Javits Center in NYC where we won Best Booth for The Chair Show over 600 exhibitors and three schools. It was also internationally published in Metropolis, Core 77, Apartment Therapy, Dwell, Interni Magazine and Trendease.
